FAQs

How do I request an appointment?

To request an appointment you can email me directly, or use my booking form on the contact page. When emailing your inquiry, please include a description of your idea, any reference pictures you have, where on your body you’d like it, what size in inches, and if you’d like black and grey or color.

Many projects will require a consultation prior to booking an appointment. Consults can be virtual or in person. Some designs, such as cover ups or large scale designs (such as sleeves, back pieces, etc.) require an in person consultation.

What are flash designs?

Flash tattoos are pre-drawn designs that can be repeated multiple times. All flash designs will be fully shaded in black and grey or color. I am also happy to customize most of these designs.

My flash is posted on my Instagram highlights. If you don’t have social media, send me email and I’ll send over some images.

I also have pre-drawn designs that are “one offs”, meaning I will only tattoo them once. These are usually larger designs with more detail than my typical flash.

Do you draw custom tattoos?

I love collaborating with clients to create something custom in my style. If I feel my style and your vision align, I use your input and create a design specific to you and your body. I will try to provide recommendations if I feel I am not the right artist for your design. My goal is to focus on projects that reflect my original artwork while at the same time creating something you love!

Will I see my design prior to my appointment?

I am happy to schedule an in person drawing check in about a week prior to your custom tattoo appointment. This allows you to make sure you are happy with the direction I’ve taken and will give me time to make any changes based off your input. I want you to love your tattoo and my feelings won’t be hurt if you want me to redraw part of the design, or go in a different direction.

How long will it take to hear back from you?

I typically respond to emails every 2-4 days. If you don’t hear back from me within a week, feel free to reach out again. Please check the email’s spelling as well as your spam folder.

Do I need to leave a deposit?

Once your project is approved, a non refundable $100 deposit is required to schedule an appointment. I can take this in person or send a emailed invoice. The deposit will come off the final cost of the tattoo. If your tattoo is multiple sessions, I prefer to take the deposit off of the final appointment. If something comes up and your budget requires a break in sessions, you can apply your deposit to the current appointment. However, in order to set up an appointment to complete your tattoo, I’ll need another deposit to schedule further sessions.

If you need to reschedule your appointment, please provide a minimum of 48 hours notice. This allows me time to try to fill the appointment slot. Last minute cancellations or no shows forfeit the deposit to account for the lost income of that day.

Do not come in if you are feeling sick. Please be mindful of your upcoming appointment and take good care of yourself.

How much will my tattoo cost?

My minimum is $100 and my hourly rate is $200.

All price quotes are estimations and depend on how long the tattoo takes. Factors that affect the length of a tattoo include size, style, detail, and whether you’d like black and grey or color.

Please let me know if you have a budget you’d like me to keep in mind. I am happy to work with you by breaking up the tattoo into multiple sessions or designing your tattoo with the appropriate amount of detail to align with your budget.

What forms of payment do you take?

As I transition to tattooing in Illinois, I am currently cash only. I also accept Venmo, Zelle, etc.

How do I prepare for my tattoo appointment?

In the weeks leading up to your tattoo, it’s best to keep yourself and your skin healthy. Exfoliate, moisturize, stay hydrated, and avoid sun damage.

Make sure to get plenty of rest the night before. The day of your appointment drink plenty of water and eat a good meal before coming in. Tattoos are a strain on the body so you want to make sure you take good care of yourself before and after your tattoo.

Wear comfortable clothing that allows access to the area you are getting tattooed. If you’d like any tips or suggestions feel free to ask! You are also welcome to bring in any comfort items such as a blanket, pillow, headphones, shows/movies downloaded to your tablet or phone, etc. I do have privacy screens I can put up for intimate tattoos and upon request.

Plan some extra time around the estimated length of your session to account for paperwork, stencil placement, breaks, etc. Tattoos can’t be rushed, so plan your day around your tattoo and not squeezed in between other plans.

What is your Covid protocol?

With the uncertainty of new strains and immunocompromised clients and coworkers, I will be wearing a mask during all appointments. You may choose to do whatever you are most comfortable with. I have extra masks for those who would like to wear one but did not bring one with.

Aftercare Instructions

  • Remove bandage after 3 hours (1-5 days if using Derm Shield) and wash thoroughly with warm water and unscented liquid soap. Be sure to wash off excess ointment and plasma. Pat dry with paper towel. After skin is fully dry, apply a thin layer of unscented moisturizer.

  • Wear loose/breathable clothing. Your tattoo will be red and tender, and may continue to weep plasma and ink for a day or so.

  • Wash and moisturize your tattoo 1-3 times daily for two weeks. Only touch your fresh tattoo with clean hands.

  • After a few days, your tattoo will start to peel. Do not pick or scratch your tattoo during this time as it may result in pigment loss and prolonged healing.

  • No soaking (swimming, hot tubs, baths) or direct sunlight until your tattoo is fully healed. Tattoos will heal in around 2 weeks.

  • Avoid heavy exercise for at least 48 hours after getting tattooed.

  • Long term care - moisturize and avoid sun damage. Good skin care is good tattoo care.
